Today yoga therapy is a healing modality used to support health, recover from illness and manage chronic disease – as is herbalism. So fusing the therapeutic benefits of herbs with the therapeutic benefits of yoga – just makes good sense.
Creating a Digestion Supportive Yoga Practice w/ Herbal Teas (Date & Time TBA)
Digestion shapes every aspect of our physical and emotional well-being. This three-hour workshop is one part foraging foray, one part yoga practice. We begin outdoors and discover the many digestion supportive herbs and wild botanicals that grow all around us in our backyards, neighborhood greenspaces and urban wilds.
Back at the studio, we’ll create and sample a few teas. Then, in tandem with therapeutic yoga sequences, we’ll explore how to stimulate and support our ability to digest and detoxify. Participants will take home samples for use in their yoga practice.
Energizing Herbal Teas for Yoga & Life (Date & Time TBA)
We could all use a revitalizing boost. This three-hour workshop begins with a foraging foray and closes with a yoga practice. We begin outdoors exploring how common “tonic plants” can help restore physical energy, invigorate systems in the body, increase musculoskeletal function, circulation and coordination, not to mention concentration, perception and mental clarity.
Then we’ll head indoors and learn how to prepare our plants in nourishing infusions and herbal simple teas. Then we’ll flow through a gently energizing practice to help open and dissolve stagnant blocks in our bodies and let fresh vitalizing prana to flow in. Participants will receive a variety of samples for take home.
Good Night: Calming The Body & Mind for Deep Restful Sleep (Date & Time TBA)
It’s no secret that insomnia and anxiety go hand in hand. In this three-hour workshop we discover locally growing “nervine” herbs that help calm our nervous system and soothe stress. We’ll create and sample these herbs in a variety bedtime teas and tinctures and explore how they can be used tandem with restorative and relaxing yoga postures, to prepare us for deep restful sleep. Participants will receive a variety of samples for take home.
